The Noiseborder Festival 2018 features two weeks of multimedia performances, interactive installations, improvisations, concerts and screenings. Visiting artists include Megumi Masaki, Sahlia Wong, and Chris Myhr.

The Noiseborder Ensemble will present a program of new multimedia performance pieces and video art on March 24 at 7:30 in Lambton Studio A, University of Windsor, ON.

Founded in 2008, the Noiseborder Ensemble is a group of visual artists and musicians that work together to create interactive works that explore potential relationships between the visual and the sonic. We have created more than 30 works and performed them across North America and Europe, most recently at the Festival des musiques de création in Québec and at the Colab festival in London, England.

Performance interactive alliant percussions, traitements audio et traitements vidéo, Subatomique Time explore la notion des extrêmes de l'échelle spatio-temporelle en établissant des parallèles entre les techniques vidéo (zoom, focus, saturation des couleurs) et le traitement audio (amplification, réverbération, filtrage, spatialisation, manipulations spectrales). Les matériaux sonores et visuels sont présentés parfois en parallèle, parfois en contrepoint, parfois en hétérophonie.

Œuvrant au cœur de l’interdisciplinarité, les membres du Noiseborder Ensemble travaillent sur une multitude de projets et nous présenteront d’autres trésors pendant toute la première fin de semaine du Festival.

The performance will feature several recent multimedia works developed by the Noiseborder Ensemble, including Outer Drive, Prana, Parvis, I hear your voice in the circling night, Carolina, and What Do People Do All Day? There will also be an interactive installation based on Pitch-a-sketch, where musical sound controls the generation of graphic images in real time. Featured with the Noiseborder Ensemble are Brent Lee (audio, video, saxophone), Sigi Torinus (video), Chris McNamara (audio, video), Anthony Giglio (audio, trumpet), Megumi Masaki (keyboard), Nick Papador (percussion), Trevor Pittman (clarinet), Martin Schiller (audiovisual installation),  and Yiru Chen (video).

Sigi Torinus and Andrea Sunder-Plassmann present browsing beauty at Kunstmuseet KUBE in Ålesund, Norway, featuring sound design for their installation Nabor by Brent Lee, as well as sound for bb by the Noiseborder Ensemble. Curated by Tove Lande. Performance at the opening on January 16 by Brent Lee and Sigi Torinus. Show runs until March 1, 2015.

March 28-April 2, 2014: the Noiseborder Ensemble welcomes matralab artists Sandeep Bhagwati , Adam Basanta, Jen Reimer, Max Stein, Julian Stein, Navid Navab and Felix Del Tredici from matralab at Concordia University/Montreal for a series of presentations and performances, culminating in a collaborative multimedia event with the Noiseborder Ensemble on April 1.
